What is the Team Challenge?
Smart Dublin are rolling out a new team cycling challenge on our Dublin Cycling Buddy app. Brought to you by Dublin City Council, Dublin Cycling Buddy App is a clever and cool way to navigate the streets of Dublin and beyond!
The 'Team Cycle Challenge' will run from February 1st to 28th. The team with the most active days by the end of the challenge will win the 'Team Challenge Prize'. An 'Active Day' is counted if you record at least one cycle on that day. The more members in your team that cycle in any given day the more Active Days your Team can accumulate.
There are also individual and spot prizes to be won, so everyone has a chance to win!
How Does It Work?
You can register as a team or as an individual following the steps below.

About the App
As Dublin’s cycling community continues to grow, it is important that cyclists feel protected on our roads.
The Dublin Cycling Buddy app has been developed for cyclists to make traversing the city safer and more enjoyable! Built using a new community-powered cycling navigation engine, the app has ‘Smart’ capabilities, utilising multiple large data sets, including GPS trajectories and crowd sourced issue reports.
Riders interact with the app, feeding information into the engine so as to improve the collective knowledge of users.
The app analyses the data to produce optimal routes. The solution gives cyclists peace of mind when planning their journey, and allows them to specify and manage their own preferences, such as choosing quieter routes.

The ‘Dublin Cycling Buddy’ app was launched by Dublin City Council’s Smart City Programme as part of the Smart Dublin initiative.
